Racambi was an auto parts supplier that needed a fresh look and an easier way to navigate thousands of auto parts.
Mood Boards, Wire-frames, Web Design, Prototypes, Illustration
Exploring a few mood boards helped define what the client was hoping for beyond the initial verbal explanation. After a few revisions, we had defined the need to convey an enthusiasm for automobiles, reinforce that the parts are authentic and provide the elements for a beautiful design.
The process of wire-framing Racambi was essential to the success of this project. Navigating through all the cars, diagrams and parts was complicated and confusing. With some wireframe review and good input from the client, the end product greatly improved users ability to find and purchase parts.
The new design was created with functionality and enthusiasm for automobile ownership in mind. Using the mood boards and wireframes, the designs reinforced a passion for cars using automobile imagery, a luxury color scheme and a clean layout.
Using InVision, a prototype for the design was created and the site was tested for functionality, aesthetic consistency and usability.
The process was not included in my responsibilities for this particular project.
I created some technical illustrations (using Adobe Illustrator) to create a schematic feel for icons that kept the design clean and mechanical.
